The Gulf has been cultivating dates since before the wheel was invented. We select three varieties — Medjool, Khalas and Sukkari — and rotate the boxes by season.
Cocoa is the modern half of the story. We pair the fruit with dark and milk chocolate chosen for flavour rather than cost.
Date palms live to a hundred years and yield for sixty. They thrive in soil that grows nothing else, on a fraction of the water a fruit tree needs.
